Who: Scouts and Venturers from Scone and other from other groups.
Prerequisite: note it's a prerequisite that youth members have been on a day scout hike with us prior to coming on this hike. 

What:  Starting at Washpools at 450m, it's an 850m rise to the top of the Liverpool Range. Across the plateau overlooking Murrurundi and the Great Divide. Then do the 600m decent to the headwaters of the Pages River. The activity will include walking across open paddocks, rock scrambling and farm roads through a variety of topography and vegetation.

Catering: BYO - suitable food will be discussed at scouts, as well as cooking on wood and fuel fires. You will need to source a cheap, small billy if you don't own one. Handy if you have EMPTY wine bladder for collecting water.

Gear: we will discuss this at scouts as well as how to pack a pack!

Packs:  need to be no more than 55L for new scouts, when full should be no more than 1/5 scouts' body weight - we commence with a weigh in at the scout hall on Friday night! Those overweight will need to repack before departure. The scout troop has some packs. Which we hire out for $10, payable to 1st Scone Scouts.

Accommodation:  BYO - light weight 2 man tents required - we now have some hike tents we can hire out ($10/tent).  Once final list of participants is known we will sort out pairs taking into account who have tents, each pair shares the weight of the tent - poles/pegs & tent/fly.

Sleeping: you will need a light weight mat to sleep on (we have some you can loan) to keep out the cold. Need to organise a compact, light sleeping bag, if at all possible.

Water: need to bring at least 2Litres of water for hiking during day. Water sources where we camp overnight. 

Toilets: discuss bush toileting at scouts before the hike.

Parents:  are welcome to join us - need to be physically able and have lodged valid WWCC. Talk to Fuzz about any equipment you might need to borrow as well.
